MATT COMPITO

I've been teaching private music lessons for over a decade, bringing a wealth of experience to my students. My musical journey began at age 8, but I got serious about this artform at Berklee College of Music, where I focused on Voice and Guitar performance. This experience not only enhanced my musical skills but also deepened my understanding of effective teaching methods.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to lead music therapy groups for special needs individuals and perform extensively, both as a solo artist and with various local bands. These experiences have broadened my musical horizons and informed my teaching methods. My musical expertise covers a wide range of genres, including jazz, rock, pop, blues, funk, and country.
As a guitarist, I've been a dedicated student of the instrument for over 25 years. This long-term commitment to learning and growth has given me a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of mastering the guitar. It's also allowed me to develop effective strategies for overcoming obstacles and achieving musical goals.
I see myself as an idea collector, always looking at musical concepts with childlike wonder and enthusiasm. I'm constantly yearning to learn more, not just about music but about life in general. This curiosity and passion for learning are qualities I bring to every lesson and musical interaction.
